RECREATION, CULTURE AND SPORTS
CHICORAL ANDEAN MUSIC SCHOOL
It was founded in 2005, under the leadership of Eduardo Uribe. As far as teachers goes, it has renown composers and interpreters of the genre. In it, we are training 80 children and young people, who go every Saturday to the of Santa Maria del Camino chapel, the Foundation’s headquarters in the Chicoral Village.
To join us is to understand that sensitivity and creativity are essential for children and young people to have a better future. That is why the Fundación Agrícola Himalaya is sponsoring these type of projects.
Its discipline and passion have led them to receive significant awards at a national and international level, with groups such as the Cafecito y Caña (Coffee and Sugar) Duet, Cords Quintet and Chamber Choir, that were awarded first place in the festivals of Aguadas, Santafé de Antioquia, Ibagué, the Nacional Bambuco Contest in Pereira, the National Biennial of Colombian Music of Bogotá and an honorary mention in the Mono Núñez Festival, among others. In 2013, they were selected to participate in the season of concerts of the most important auditorium in the country, at the Luis Ángel Arango Library.
In addition, the school holds the Solitario Andino (Andean Solo) Contest, with the attendance of children and young people of the Municipality, and with the curatorship of prominent figures in Colombian Andean music.

SCHOOL OF PLASTIC ARTS
It is nourished by children, young people and parents, on an average of 25, who receive workshops on various techniques, every Saturday, on subjects such as: wood carving, drawing, color theory, plastic resins, among others.
Under the guidance of Nelson Velasco, a black belt instructor of the state league, children, youths and adults practice taekwondo in their Chicoral chapel hall, and every year they participate in state tournaments.
We join this beautiful sport by sponsoring the soccer team and the Bitaco Intermunicipal Cup.
