We operate in the areas influenced by Agrícola Himalaya S.A., aiming for community progress and environmental protection. We support and facilitate processes in the areas of Education, Recreation, Culture, Sports, Participatory Democracy, Entrepreneurship, and the Environment.
MIST FOREST AND BITACO RIVER SUBBASIN
Mist forests are vital for biodiversity and the water sustainability of many aqueducts in the municipalities of La Cumbre, Dagua, and Montañitas in Yumbo. Average number of beneficiaries: 25,000 people. The area of the Bitaco River subbasin is 2,099 ha, approximately 21 km.

BITACO DISTRICT
Bitaco, located in the municipality of La Cumbre, Department of Valle del Cauca, Colombia, is made up of 7 rural areas and a populated center. It has a total of 4,882 inhabitants, most of whom participate in the programs of the Himalaya Agricultural Foundation. We work for the progress of the community and the conservation of the territory through environmental and social projects, as well as education, culture, and sports programs.
We actively participate in the Sustainable Rural Development of our main area of influence. The district of Bitaco is located in the Paraguas – Munchique corridor of the Tropical Andes biodiversity hotspot, ranked first in biodiversity worldwide, according to the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund.

EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY
The Himalaya Agricultural Foundation supports rural education for:
3 Community homes and FAMI mother, which shelter 60 children from 0 to 5 years old.1 High school and 6 rural schools:
Community of the La Libertad Educational Institution: 442 students (36 adults) and their families, averaging 1,500 people.
Infrastructure programs: Computer rooms, children’s playgrounds, locative and agricultural improvements.
Programs to Improve the Quality of Education:
Systems Course, Environmental Education, English, Visual Arts, and Music in primary schools.
Cultural and sports afternoon in high school: Choir, strings, dance, marching band, visual and audiovisual arts, swimming, soccer, table tennis, and more English.
Pre-ICFES course for 11th-grade students.
