THE HIMALAYA AGRICULTURAL FOUNDATION AND HINDÚ TEA CELEBRATE THE BITAQUEÑA WOMAN AND MOTHER

On May 18, 2025, the town of Bitaco was filled with color, music, and joy during the celebration of the “Bitaqueña Woman and Mother” event — a fair highlighting female entrepreneurship and leadership. Organized by the Himalaya Agricultural Foundation, with the support of the Hindú brand and the Municipal Government of La Cumbre, this event brought the community together to honor the leadership, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of the women and mothers who build the heart of Bitaco every day.

A tribute filled with art, flavor, and local talent

Throughout the day, attendees and their families enjoyed local artistic performances that reflected the rich cultural heritage of our region. In addition, 30 women-led ventures proudly showcased their products, demonstrating that Bitaco is a place of creativity, innovation, and courage.

One of the most flavorful moments was the space dedicated to recipes made with products from the Hindú brand, a company born in the town of Bitaco and now a national leader in teas and infusions. It was a delicious way to reconnect with our roots through the traditional flavors we all love.

Recognition of Women Leaders

One of the most meaningful moments was the recognition of 16 outstanding Bitaqueña women for their leadership, community work, and entrepreneurial spirit. These women are true examples of perseverance and are driving forces of transformation in our region.

The day also included a lively fundraising bingo, aimed at raising money for the improvement of the town’s main square — a key space for community life. The solidarity and enthusiasm of the participants made this activity a true success.

Guests Who Inspire with Their Stories

The event featured the participation of two outstanding representatives of Bitaqueño talent:

Nina Joaqui, a proudly Bitaqueña woman, shared her story of struggle, perseverance, and achievement. She moved everyone as she recalled how her roots have been a key part of her journey to success.

Mauricio Arcila, a popular music singer and another great example of local talent, energized the audience with his music and charisma, reaffirming the value of our artists.

Local Commerce Also Celebrated

During the event, the latest edition of the Periódico LA RED 16 was launched, titled “En Bitaco se le atiende” (“In Bitaco, You’re Always Welcome”). This publication is dedicated to highlighting local commerce and the entrepreneurs who drive the economic development of the corregimiento.

Thank you for joining us and being part of this wonderful celebration!
